McAllister Park
McAllister Park is owned and maintained by the Town of Mount Pleasant. The park has a full-size baseball field, playground, two picnic shelter areas, restrooms, and a concession stand. The picnic shelters, ballfield, and outdoor stage areas are available for rental.
Cabarrus County Facilities
Other recreational facilities in eastern Cabarrus County are provided and maintained by Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks. The County currently provides a Cabarrus County Branch Library and a Active Living/Senior Center in Mount Pleasant. A new state of the art facility with a combination Library and Senior Center and Virginia Foil Park is under construction at 1111 N. Washington Street and will be completed in late 2024. Cabarrus County is also working on plans for a Nature Park on 600 acres, located east of Mount Pleasant between St. Stephens Church Road and N. Lentz Harness Shop Road.
BUFFALO CREEK PRESERVE TRAIL
The Town of Mount Pleasant is located in the Carolina Thread Trail region. The Carolina Thread Trail is a 14-county network of trails in piedmont of North Carolina and South Carolina. Mount Pleasant is home to the Buffalo Creek Preserve Trail segment, a natural surface trail that takes visitors through a 400-acre property with restored oak-savanna, farmland, and woodland and along Adams Creek . The trailhead located at 7911 Malibu Road is maintained by the Town of Mount Pleasant and has a picnic shelter that is available for rental.
