The Town of Mount Pleasant Fire Department provides emergency response within the Town of Mount Pleasant and Mount Pleasant Rural Fire District, which covers a large area of eastern Cabarrus County. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is located at 1415 N. Main Street. The Fire Department works closely with the Cabarrus County Fire Marshal's Office to promote fire safety in Mount Pleasant.
The Town of Mount Pleasant contracts with the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department for enhanced community policing. The Cabarrus County Sherrif's Department operates Animal Control and the Animal Shelter. The non-emergency Sheriff's Department phone number is 704-920-3000. The Sheriff's Department has a Mount Pleasant satellite office located at the rear of Town Hall at 8590 Park Drive.
Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services provides medical response and transport with Mount Pleasant. EMS Station 3 (EMS 31) is located at 325 Jackson Street in Mount Pleasant.
